Back to Blogging with Bento Boxes

No...we don't like sushi. But, YES, we love these Bento Boxes!

Last week, while visiting my parents in Idaho Falls, my sister was also visiting from Moscow (ID), and gave my older girls these cute little bento boxes.

I couldn't wait to try them out, so this is what we made.

Today's lunch consisted of fun - shaped PB and honey sandwiches, cheese, strawberries and peaches. Did you notice the cute giraffe and dog shaped finger forks?

My sister, Emily, also got us little fun things to stick into the food to make it more fun. It's hard to see in the picture, but there's a little bear sitting on one of the sandwiches, and a handle for a sword on a spear of cheese.

In this one there's a strawberry with a cute flower stem in it, and a heart shaped peach ring. They really liked them!

It was a little more work than your average lunch, but I actually thought it was a lot of fun to put together, and I'm already starting to think of more cute lunch ideas. (Tortilla "sushi" and Hot dog "squid") She also gave me lots of other food decorations (like the ring and stem) that I'm excited to try out.

Here are the girls enjoying their surprise lunch!
