Quilt #1 - Completed! (Audrey's)
And a cute little taggy toy. This seriously took like 10 minutes, and I really like it! I used leftover quilt squares. and put those cellophane wrappers from microwave popcorn inside so it's crinkly when you touch it. However, I guess it's time to eat some popcorn now, because all of the packets we have are opened now!
Baby food jar pin cushion - I found this idea on the Internet, if I knew how to post a link, I would! I also used a leftover quilt square for this one. I have lots of them!
Here's quilt top #2 - Katelyn's. This one is actually upstairs tied and ready to bind now. I also have a green quilt top done for Sydney. It's in line to be tied and bound next, even though it will probably be a couple of years before she uses hers. I just want to get it done while I'm in sewing mode.
And even if sewing is happening a lot over here, it's not the only thing happening! We were lucky enough to have some cousin time the other day. My smart little 4 year old nephew, Jackson had something funny to say:
Tim had him in a headlock, and said: "Who's the master of the universe??" (A common thing for him to do...expecting to hear "Uncle Tim!" or "Daddy!" if he's doing it to our girls.)
Jackson: (struggling to free himself)
Tim: Who's the master of the universe?!?
Jackson: Jesus is!
Tim:No, you're supposed to say "Uncle Tim is."
Jackson: Well, Jesus is the boss of you...and actually he is the boss of me, too.
Tim: So what does that make me?
Jackson: You are the boss of your family.
Tim: and you?
Jackson: I'm the brother of my family!

Wow! I can't say that the phrase "master of the universe" has ever been used over here. He came up with that on his own. Did Tim really say No. I'm glad Jackson stood his ground! Thanks for sharing. And thanks for spending the day with him, he loved it!
You're right, come to think of it I don't think he said "No." just "You're supposed to say...."
What a smart kid! I'm glad he stood his ground, too! Teach that uncle Tim a LESSON! ;)
I am truly impressed! There must be something in the air because I have had the sewing "bug" too lately...Alough I have been making skirts for Lauren.
Go Jackson - - - what a heaven smart kid.
thanks for sharing the story, Karen

Way to go Jackson, that was such a good answer!
Wow, you have been in sewing mode! Quite impressive projects.
I loved your taggy toy so much, that as I was unwrapping popcorn this evening, I saved the wrapper. Don't know if it will ever make it into a taggy toy, but it's there until I do...or get tired of it and throw it away.
